Meep, sorry I haven't posted in a while. And I can't really use my damaged-wrist excuse, since I go on the computer anyway :P I guess there just wasn't much to post about.
Not that there's anything new to post about now, but you know.
We went to see the horses the day before yesterday or something, and Princesse had a really bad cut on her back left leg. I guess one of the other horses (probably Follette) kicked her by accident. (It's not the sort of place they'd kick her on purpose.)
We were going to go and see if we could find the owner of the horses (our neighbour had told us it was someone in the village who sold honey - at least, we think that's what she said, it was a while ago) - but we were pretty nervous of just going and asking some complete stranger if they owned the horses. I wouldn't have minded so much if it had been in England, but...meh.
But luckily Dad suggested we go and see if Princesse showed any signs of being cared for - we went and she had some Betadine on her foot. (Betadine is a kind of aniseptic thing.) So that was good :3

I was taking some photos of spiderwebs yesterday, and got a couple of ok photos. (More here and here.)

It's grey today, and it rained a lot earlier, thank goodness. It's been so hot!
This morning, Humbug climbed onto our bedside table and from there jumped onto the top of the wardrobe O.O as far as I know, he's never done that before. Weird cat! Oh, and speaking of him doing strange things, yesterday he caught a bird. (Which, as far as I know, again, he hasn't done before.) It was a sparrow, a female, I think. Sky followed him into our room (where I was reading), apparently wondering what he had in his mouth. Then she said "Humbug has something in his mouth", I looked up and went "Houm, I seriously think you should drop that", pounced on him and tried to make him drop it.
He started growling loads, but I got him to drop it. It was alive but injured, and flew up to the ceiling and then started fluttering against the window. Humbug struggled out of my grip and caught it again...this time, sadly, it was too late to do anything.
Drat him.
He went outside and played with it for a bit but didn't eat it. *sigh*
Then, later, he caught a green lizard! A kind of adolescent green lizard. I hadn't seen any of those here! Again, I managed to make him drop it (though he scratched me, but that was more accidentally than purposefully) - the lizard ran off across the terrace and, again, Houm got out of my hands and ran after it, catching it again. I kept forcing it out of his mouth and he kept getting it again.
Finally I called Sky and she took him inside (although he got out three times and she had to come and get him again) and I managed to grab the lizard and put it somewhere safer.
I hope it'll be ok, one of its legs was injured - that wasn't too bad, and I'm sure it would heal, but it also had a (hopefully not deep) wound in it's side. Poor lizard.
And Humbug! He's so cute! You wouldn't think he could be a nasty lil' murderer, would you?
Admittedly, we've always wanted him to catch stuff (just in case something happens to the nieghbours, who are quite old and suffer from heart problems) while we're away...but now he does catch stuff...meh.

I'd better go now :3

  1. Poor sparrow :'(
My dog has done something like that before- of course, he isn't fast enough to catch birds, but sometimes he kind of plays with them and we have to make him stop. >.<

  4. Poor bird...:(

My mom used to live on a farm, and once her cat once brought home a snake. O_O
    But it was dead already.

Her other cat used to sit up in trees near birdfeeders and ambush birds there. >.<
