Meep ^.^
So we're back from Scandinavia, which is where we just were, for my grandmother's birthday.

We went to look for fossils on one day (can't remember which, now o.o) but we annoyingly didn't find any. But, in our defence, the weather wasn't great and, having never been there before, we weren't sure of where to look exactly. On the way back we stopped and had a look at some horses with a foal.

Another day we went out in our great uncle's motor boat and saw several seals, which was really nice. Unfortunately I only had my small camera (the Nikon Coolpix S3200) with me, because I wasn't sure whether we might get wet or not, so I didn't get any photos of the seals (we didn't want to go to close and disturb them). The second time we went out, with the better camera, there weren't any seals *groan*
There was a really nice sunset on one evening ^.^

Sky might not like me telling this, but we both had a try at driving our great uncle's quad.
The steering was very stiff and you had to swing the handlebars right round to change direction, and it was also hard to control the speed. When I tried I'm afraid I ended up in the hedge. Sky had a go a few days later and...oh, it was so strange! I was watching her from behind and she was just driving straight towards the small pond. It seemed to go into slow motion and I was just thinking 'No, she can't go in the pond. She'll manage to turn. She can't go in the pond. That would...'
Splash! There was a huge wave of water and there she was, in the pond. I ran over, just as Mum came running, too. Mum pulled her off the quad illico presto - apparently she'd read somewhere that a boy had driven a motor bike into a swimming pool and died of electrocution. (The quad was only 12 volts, though.)
I'm afraid most of us - apart from Mum and Sky - were laughing. But it was funny, when you knew she was ok. It took a while to get the quad out of the pond (which was only knee-deep) but when we had got it out, it was still working, thankfully.

We flew home last night. RyanAir was so annoying. Before we took off, the loudspeaker kept repeating "welcome to RyanAir" and "you have been allotted seats due to the weight arrangement" or something like that. Kept on repeating it. And it was so hot on the plane >.< Not to mention the food that wasn't great and was scarily expensive. (Five pounds for a hot dog, for instance.)

Anyway, we're back in London now. Going to France in a few days for my uncle's and granddad's birthday, then we'll be back at home for a bit before going to Africa again.

  4. That is so spooky... Good thing Sky was ok.
I've had several water accidents. At my cabin, I go tubing a lot. If you don't know what it is, its where you hook a huge inner tube-type-thing to the boat on a really long line.
So, I was riding the tube with my sister and my cousin. You go over a lot of waves when tubing in a busy lake, most of the time airborne, which I love because I'm quite the daredevil...! But when we were in the channel, a narrow passageway in the lake where you get back to your dock, you HAVE to go at your lowest speed, which obviously is extremely slow. My cousin just HAD to lean forward, because apparently she wanted to touch the water. Me, her, and my sister all flipped and were trapped underneath the tube, because it flipped right on top of us and we were all panicking. Good thing we were saved, my step dad pulled in the tube and we were fine, although there were several snapping turtles which didn't help! O-o

  5. By the way, I forgot to add that the boat was a pontoon, and not a canoe or a huge traveling boat :3
