Oh humans of the planet! (And humans not of the planet, and other stuff on the planet, and in general: stuff.)
First of all, the two winners are Pumaa (best good joke) and MomSandy (best bad joke)!
*logs on to see if can send prizes*
*sees MomSandy is a member*
*attempts to send scarecrow*
WHAT. ONLY MEMBERS CAN SEND GIFTS NOW?
Ugh. C'EST NUL, CA.
You two had better comment a time we can meet up (tell me your time zone and country, too) so I can give you the scarecrow... Or you could email me the password and username of a spare account and I can transfer the scarecrow on.

Anyway, what have we been doing... Oh yes. Yesterday me and Sky went for a bike ride, for an hour, down the road in a direction we hadn't been before. (Yes, I know, we've lived here...what is it, three years? and we still haven't been down there. Shameful.) We got to the bridge and river we were heading for (I think our stream ends up in the river, or vice versa, I'm not sure yet. We'll have to explore more.)
So we went down a track for a few metres, stopped, and went down to look at the river. It's more of a stream right now actually - well, it was yesterday, anyway - so we were able to cross and wander along the opposite bank.

We were pressed for time so we had to go fairly quickly, and there were a lot of brambles and shrubs all over the place, in the way. We found a small pond, the outlet of which went through this small, old shed-sized building (it was weird seeing water pouring out of there, but it was too dark inside to take any photos: we'll have to go back with the tripod).

We scrambled on and just as we were about to go back I heard the sound of a small waterfall, and rushed on ahead of Sky. A blue-grey heron flew up in front of my nose and gave me a blasted shock.
There was what looked like another mill fall, and a small waterfall (like the picture up there ^) which was making one heck of a racket for something so small. I guess the pool at the foot of it must have been fairly deep. Like I said, though, we were just about to go back (and we had to run) so we didn't get to explore.
I want to go again today, but it looks like there's going to be a storm, and I don't want to risk the camera.
