Aaand now I've lost Diana XD but I found another chameleon, a female who looks a lot like Nyx, although she has a slightly bent rostral horn and is moulting. I only found her this evening so I'll post a photo of her tomorrow, if I get the chance, because we're going shopping or something.
I want to find a high-casqued *wails*

My sister just remarked that this blog is turning into "chameleon diaries"...she's not too wrong, either, is she? o.o

    1. It depends. Other than looking at the base of their tail - which isn't always accurate - there are three other ways: horns, colour and build. With Jackson's, that is, at least.
So, with males, the horns are generally longer and more well-defined. But then it can seriously depend, because a lot of females have long horns, and some males have shortish ones :P or a female might have three short, or one long and two short, or three long.
So then there's the colour. Males are usually green or...well, I think you've seen the photos I've posted. And the females are generally patterned with black and white or brownish-red. Sometimes (like Kleo), they can be green though. Or beige.
And as for the build, males are often longer and stringier than the females, which are more "compact". You really have to look at all three things to tell XD
