In my last post, that "could" should have been "good". No idea why I wrote "could" o.o
Anyway, I did manage to photograph them all. The maybe-Nyx was definitely Nyx, but I'm not so sure about the maybe-Apollo >.< I'm trying to sort the photos right now. Well, evidently not right, right now, but...you get it.
We took a taxi to the airport and flew to the coast. I've never flown around in the same country before. It feels weird. I wish we could have driven. A drive takes two days and the plane takes about an hour. On the drive you could see lots of animals and things but on the plane the most interesting stuff you see are clouds. Nice clouds, but they're just...clouds. And the plane's probably more expensive, too. Grumble.
I know that picture's a dead giveaway of which country we're in, but seriously, I don't see who couldn't have figured that out already. (The only reason I didn't mention it because it's simple to find the school. But really, see if I care.)
And, last night, as we drove to the place where we're staying now, I found a new chameleon!! I'm not sure what species it is, but I think it's a female. It's adorable. And it's called Samba.
Isn't that too cute for words? <3
Those are some pretty nice clouds, though. :3
ReplyDeleteThat's a kenya flag, right?
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo btw! What do you feed them? And do you keep them outside?
*pokes in eye* You didn't need to yell about it! Well, anyway, yes it is.
DeleteThanks :3 I mostly feed them grasshoppers, since those are generally the most abundant and easy to catch, but when I can I vary with spiders, crickets, moths, flies, etc.
It depends. Back where we normally stay I have a lot living sort of free range on the creeper which grows on the veranda, so when I want one I can get one. At night, at least, when they're visible and not moving. Others I often keep on a small bush and put them in a cardboard box at night or if I can't check them often enough. For example, those I want to photograph or just want to keep. I know that of course a cardboard box is NOT an ideal home for the poor things, but within a week of our return - hopefully... - we should have a proper cage built for 'em.
lol, I've never heard of anyone keeping free-range chameleons before... interesting...
ReplyDeleteMy bearded dragon really likes worms (earthworms, wax worms, meal worms etc) and also fruit. But chameleons are insectivores right? So I guess you shouldn't feed them fruit :P
Actually some species of chameleon do eat leaves and things, and some owners give them stuff like watermelon to keep them hydrated. But mine don't eat leaves :P I gave (force fed) one a small piece of watermelon once and it ate it ok, but they don't eat the stuff by themselves.
