Did I mention that Toffee and Sandy are both pregnant? Well, that is to say, Sandy was pregnant...she had them earlier today :3
Super-unfortunately me, Sky and Dad were in town so I didn't see them being born >.< Mum phoned us and me and Sky came back asap, but Dad had to go to a meeting.
And Sandy had them on our bed! We're sleeping on a mattress on the floor right now, because the carpenter who made the bed is just adjusting it or something. Anyway, she made a huge mess everywhere, poor dog, and the sheet's covered in blood and green placenta stuff.
There are three puppies, plus one which was stillborn. Of the three, two are brown and white and one is black and white - but I looked up pictures of Alsatian puppies (since we're pretty sure Jake, the guard dog here, is the father) and they look rather similar so they may turn out Alsatian-like. I'm pretty sure the black one is a male, and the other two are girls. I want to keep the black one *wails* but I don't think we'll be able to... It's the runt and has trouble feeding - not helped by the fact that only two of Sandy's eight teats are producing milk.
Our neighbour's daughter and a man (who I assume was visiting them) came over and helped us with them. They're so cute! They make a lot more noise than kittens do :P
Y'know, I don't think I've actually ever seen a puppy before, except for Toffee, and then she was already several months old. Heh.
You would think Sandy would be good at looking after them by now, since this is at least her third litter, but she keeps turning over and squishing them, and you hear desperate squeaking and have to run over and rescue them *sigh* maybe she'll settle down. But I think cats are definitely easier!
I hope they'll all be alright. They HAVE to be alright.

*EDIT: another one!!! I knew she looked too fat! This one is also black, and born several hours after the others.*
