Y'know, I was going to write in my last post that the next time I'd be posting, we'd be in Devon. Luckily I decided not to, because I'm still in London and I'm posting XD
So, obviously we're not gone yet. Mum and Dad have been doing a lot of stuff (phoning people in France and things like that, as usual). Three of us are packed (Mum's the odd one out) and my parents are in the garage right now. I'm not sure what they're doing. I asked Dad to see if he could find any of Grandpa's old lenses but I doubt he'll have enough time. I couldn't find my intervalometer earlier and nearly had a nervous breakdown, thinking I'd accidentally left it in Kenya. Thank goodness Dad had seen it in his suitcase, where I just found it. I really want to take a timelapse in Devon :3
Onto the main reason why I'm posting. I'm simply so fed up with all this islamophobia. Yes, it's some stupid extremist Muslim group who did three terror attacks in one day. But it's not all Muslims!! (And is it everyone who agrees that these terrorists should be shot immediately? I don't think that's fair! I know, it's not fair killing innocent people, either. But why make yourself as bad as them? Ok, not quite as bad as them, since they're not exactly innocent. I suppose my argument doesn't stand if you think the death penalty's a good idea. But I don't, so saying that they'd have been killed anyway doesn't work.) Some are saying that no tourist would go to Tunisia, now. Excuse me? I would. People still go to Kenya, and they - we - had the Westgate attack! People still go to France, and they had Charlie Hebdo and, more recently, that attack in Lyon. I feel like becoming a Muslim just to show solidarity! I've seen comments on the internet saying that people are scared of anyone Arab-looking, whether Muslim or not! They cross the street if they see anyone like that or leave the shop.
And Daesh! This might be going back on my anti-death-penalty opinion, but why can't something simply be done about them? How hard is it? Why can't the army go in and stop them? A surprise attack, parachutists, soldiers dressed as civilians - why.
Just...make it stop. It's stupid, it's not fair, it's horrible.
