We celebrated Dad's birthday on Friday, and some family and friends came over.

Having originally planned to leave last Wednesday, we then decided to leave on Friday evening. Then Saturday. Then Sunday, and we eventually left on Monday.

Before we left, I photographed Wilfrid (below) and several rather friendly rats.

We just managed to catch the 6.30pm ferry (although we'd hoped to get a ferry in the early morning...) and drove until 1am, when we stopped in a cheap hotel for the night. We took a bedroom with two single beds for the four of us; when we awoke in the morning, my sister and I climbed out of the window and dashed to the car, so we didn't get into trouble!

And we arrived back home late on Tuesday night. Or rather, early in the morning on Wednesday.

The cats are all fine and adorable. I'll post some photos of them soon.
