Remember a while ago I mentioned I had tendinitis in both wrists? I can't remember if I also said something about my hips and knees hurting, too, occasionally, but anyway - I've been to the doctor once or twice about them, and she said I had to have a blood test - which, now that I come to think of it, I believe I have mentioned. Anyway, after missing a couple of appointments due to various things, I went to have it this morning.
It wasn't that bad, but I don't see why they had to sellotape some cotton wool to my arm with masking tape afterwards. It really didn't help. My shoulder and elbow ached for a bit, but that's pretty much gone, now.
We - for it was me and Dad who went - also went to our storage place to drop something off, and to the dump to, um, dump some stuff. The skip containing metal stuff was almost full, and this big...thing came over and with this huge metal cylinder covered in spikes, squashed everything. It was slightly scary.
On the way back from town we stopped at one end of a bridge I've always wanted to stop at. The bridge is rather tall, and there's a kind of gorge-river beneath it. Well, when I say river, the only time I've ever seen water flowing in it was a few days ago due to the flooding.
Me and Dad went down there for a few minutes, and there were a couple of pools of water. Unfortunately there was a lot of graffiti on the inside of the bridge >.< not very tasteful graffiti, either. Though I have to admit I've never seen tasteful graffiti :P

When I got back I helped Dad move a few boxes around, then me and Sky went for a bike ride. I'd strapped Dad's tripod to part of the bike - the crossbar? sorry, I'm no good at bicycle anatomy - and occasionally had the camera bumping around on my back, hip and leg. Most of the time I held it with one hand, though. Sky, although she couldn't figure out why, had some trouble cycling. Half way there, however, we discovered the cause - she had a flat tyre! I can't believe I'd forgotten. She'd suddenly punctured it at some point on the last ride.So she had to push it for a while and then we abandoned it in some bushes near one of the old watermills...which I don't think I've posted about on this blog. Well, they're just two old...watermills, really, lol. There are two watermills, both have waterfalls (evidently) and one has a ruined one-room building full of brambles. We hid the bike in a not very good place near the one with the building. Anyone who happened to go past would see it...but we're going to pick it up another day. There was a cute lizard Sky spotted, a green lizard. We saw several on the walk - or I did, anyway - but only one juvenile. Like one I had as a pet at one point *sigh*

I took some photos of both waterfalls, although the sun wasn't really in the right position so there was a lot of flare and spots when I positioned myself in front of the waterfall- I'll have to try again another time, and go earlier, before one...or later, after seven or eight. So I only got a few sideways on shots, which you can see more of here and here.
I was a bit nervous taking the photos of the second waterfall, since...I mean, you know. I didn't particularly want to get washed away down stream and have both camera and tripod wrecked and possibly lost forever. Without the camera and tripod, it wouldn't have been too bad. I would have got a bit bruised, at most, I think. It's not very deep just below the falls, as me and Sky discovered when we explored the place in the summer, when it was completely dried up. It's amazing how a whole river - for just above the second waterfall it is a river, and a deep one at that - can dry up...
Lastly, here's a random photo of Humbug and Toufkin in a basket. Poor Houm was being rather squashed by Touf's, er, backside. Thankfully he moved over later on.
you describe the kind of pains I had before the doctor's told me I had Lyme disease, is that something they are testing you for?
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics!
ReplyDeleteI hope nothing bad happens to your wrists.
Humbug is as cute as always.

Aww, I love it when cats cuddle in your arms :P
ReplyDeleteIt's so warm and comfy :D
Is it just me or did Humbug get a fur trim? The fluff looks like it's much shorter on his head/neck area.
ReplyDeleteNope, I guess it's just you X3
