I suppose I should have done it a while - no, quite a while - ago, but I've finally changed the blog to something more wintery. Could be more so, but this is my winter, not that of North America's or South Africa's! XD
Now, a slightly rather very morbid question...well, one question with three situations.
Would you rather kill someone, or be killed?
Situation A: the person to kill is just a random person picked of the seven billion, and you know nothing about them
Situation B: the person to kill is someone you can choose
Situation C: the person to kill is someone you know and love
Method of Death A: a bullet to the head; instantaneous death
Method of Death B: being stabbed repeatedly; long and painful death
So, what do you choose? Think about it, mind you. Don't just answer willy-nilly. The method of death applies to both you and them, by the way.
I think I would rather be killed than kill, but then, I do have all my hopes and dreams, and friends and family who would mourn. So I'm not going to think out a definite answer.
ReplyDeleteThat question reminds me of The Hunger Games... If someone was trying to kill me, I'd defend myself, of course, but I don't think I'd kill an innocent person just to save myself. In Situation B, I'd chose for Kim Jong-un to die rather than myself. He's not doing any good for the world...
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't like for anyone to have to have a painful death, even if they deserve it. Capital punishment shouldn't be revenge, it should be justice.
Kim Jong-un isn't great, no. But what about the Taliban and those other terrorist groups? Although admittedly there are a lot of them, and killing the leader would only get them to elect a new one.
DeleteAnd honestly killing Kim Jong-un would start World War 3. You know how WWI started? A terrorist killed the heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. Then Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, Russia declared war on Austria-Hungary, Germany declared war on Russia and France... all because of that one assassination.
DeleteYeah, I know. But they wouldn't necessarily know who'd killed him.
Delete*Who'd killed Kim-J u.
DeleteI suppose if I killed someone I'd feel absolutely terrible for the rest of my life, but again I don't want to be killed.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to kill some random person or else they would kill me I'd try to get in contact with that person and arrange it to just simulate a death so no one has to kill anyone, because I don't want to kill someone who hasn't done anything to deserve it.
Well, actually I wouldn't want to kill anyone even if they did deserve it, because I don't believe in capital punishment. I think even people like Kim Jong-un deserve a second chance, and even if they clearly aren't gonna use it well, they should just be in jail for the rest of their lifes in case they want to think a bit about what they've done.
And I'd definetely prefer to be killed rather than killing a loved one.
And if anyone had to be killed, I would definetely want it to be with a bullet.
But what if capital punishment scares potential murderers, decreasing crime and as a result saving lives? It's a complicated subject.
DeleteYes, capital punishment is a complicated subject *sigh*
DeleteIt would probably scare away potential criminals, but even now, not many people would kill someone just to get a 35 year (or so) prison sentence - they think they're going to get away with it.
