Yesterday the "tree guys" came.
Aka the day of death and despair.
Mum and Dad had the stupid idea that the trees needed to be trimmed so we (and future tenants) could "see the view".
This happened before last year - or the year before, I don't remember - and they cut off a whole load of unnecessary branches. When Dad protested, saying we'd wanted it trimmed, not whole branches lopped off, the guy said they were dead, unsafe and broken.
My left eyeball they were dead, unsafe and broken! They were absolutely fine!
Anyway, this time Dad said it would be a proper trim and we wouldn't get flat-topped trees.
But then, how do you define this?
That is flat-topped. My poor little yellow lichen tree >.< it will grow back, of course, but in AGES.
And then two of the tree pine trees (which, just for the record, have the washing line between them) have had their tops flattened. Ditto for the ex-copse, although that's more of a bird nest shape now, rather than flat o.e
Why, why, why, why, why didn't they listen?!
Here's a picture of what they did last time. Hah, it was all nice and green then...

Ok, you can't see the tops of the trees, sorry. But those branches show about how much they did. Beastly nasty horrible worms D:

ReplyDeleteOur tenants before us completely destroyed the trees in our front garden, and they look like gigantic wooden poles sticking up out of the ground because the branches never grew back. Even I *cringe* can cut better than the tree-guys that trimmed yours, considering I can't be trusted with yard scissors.
ReplyDeleteTennants who stayed in our house massacred our copse >.< on the second photo, that bushy tree on the left? Like in your case, our nice little copse (about eight trees) is now a bunch of wooden poles with some green stuff on top...
Deletemy Dad has a Christmas tree farm and I have learned that sometimes in trees the branch can look alive, but be dead, you have to look at the buds, if they are dry and crusty---dead branch.
ReplyDeleteThat's useful knowledge!
Delete*checks trees*
<.< I wish our tree-guys had known that before saying the branches were "dead"...
