Of course I considered the fact that the school might refuse to let me back in, but I never really thought they would!
But that's what's happened. My parents think it's because the CPE (person who's in charge of the supervisors and who you go to if you have any problems) has taken a dislike to us for whatever reason and doesn't want us back in the school and is pestering the Headteacher about it. The Head, who hypothetically doesn't want her life made miserable by this nagging woman, agrees. It being a private school, they can reject anyone on any grounds.
It's true that the CPE wasn't very friendly when we met her the first time - and also at the end of the school year when the others received their papers saying that they could go ahead and do the options they chose, I didn't receive mine and the CPE said it was because I wasn't registered in the system.
Firstly, yes I was, and secondly, it would be illegal for me to be going to a school and for me not to be registered in the blasted system.

But this just leads me to the conclusion that she generally isn't a very nice person and doesn't like doing a whole load of paperwork for someone who's only going to be at the school for three weeks before the summer holiday. I don't understand why it would bother her, or the school, whether or not I went off for a term or not. We explained about it and we said when we were coming back and if they had a problem with what we were doing, why didn't they say so back then?

Well, anyway, that's that I suppose. So now we're trying to decide between two lycees and hopefully hopefully I will have started by Monday. Neither of the lycees are for our catchement area, although one of them was last year. (This year's lycee for our area doesn't seem to be that good, nor is it on the usual bus route.) There are two points which my decision depends on: which obligatory and extra subjects you can do, and how many trees there are.

There seem to be roughly the same amount of trees, but one school offers maths and art and the other offers cinema and science. Obviously I would choose the latter option if it was just a matter of preference, but a) it would probably be easier to get into the first school because that's the one our town's progeny was going to last year and b) Dad thinks that maths would be more helpful job-wise.
But I think I'll give it a shot for option two. That is, ask Mum to give it a shot, on the phone, with the education people. I think the main issue with that lycee would be if there were no more places for either of the subjects. But then I could just go to the other one, where there is a cinema club, I think.

Wish us luck!
