Me and Sky got up early today - well, when I say early, I mean early for us: around six thirty - and went for a walk to see if I could get a good angle on the sunrise (we have a good view for the sets, but the rises are behind the house where there're a bunch of trees and a house). However, the sunrise, when we did get a good angle on it, was one of those pale, washed out affairs. It got nice and pink at one point...
...but that only lasted for about a minute. And due to the fact that I was hampered by my bike and unhelpful Neutral Density filter (which wouldn't come off when I wanted it to) I didn't get any good photos. Speaking of ND filters, they're really useful! For those who don't know, they're a gradient dark-light filter which you place over the end of your camera lens to darken, say, the sky - because if you expose for the sky, the ground gets washed out, and vice versa. Example:
without filter with filter
Samy slept on our bed last night, which is a very rare occasion - yes, me and Sky share a bed. If you have a problem with that, kindly let me know. My opening hours are between 9am and 9pm, French time.
Samy's actually still on the bed now. She's been very cute all day ^.^
Wow, that sunrise photo is sooo good! I love the pinkish hue of everything. And you mean you have a graduated ND filter... nd filters are completely shaded. Which brand do you have?
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, graduated *cough*
DeleteIt's that link I emailed you a while ago, if you can find it (I'm afraid I can't remember the brand).
