Me and Sky got up early today - well, when I say early, I mean early for us: around six thirty - and went for a walk to see if I could get a good angle on the sunrise (we have a good view for the sets, but the rises are behind the house where there're a bunch of trees and a house). However, the sunrise, when we did get a good angle on it, was one of those pale, washed out affairs. It got nice and pink at one point...

...but that only lasted for about a minute. And due to the fact that I was hampered by my bike and unhelpful Neutral Density filter (which wouldn't come off when I wanted it to) I didn't get any good photos. Speaking of ND filters, they're really useful! For those who don't know, they're a gradient dark-light filter which you place over the end of your camera lens to darken, say, the sky - because if you expose for the sky, the ground gets washed out, and vice versa. Example:
