Sorry for not having posted recently, there's been so much going on.
Remember the lightning pictures I posted? Well, that lead onto a period of several days where it was just rain, rain, rain - and heavy rain at that. Our "departement", the neighbouring one and another one were all flooded out. My aunt's house and her partner's house were flooded, several friend's of ours houses were flooded, and our garage was flooded.
If you saw what our garage was like, you'd understand why that was such a big deal. Since we let out our house, the garage is absolutely full of our stuff - and, unfortunately, a lot of them are in cardboard boxes.
We realised it was flooded when Mum went into the utility and said that a lot of water had rushed in - rushed in, she assumed, when she'd opened the door.
However, the water was actually coming out of the garage! Thankfully - for me and Sky, at any rate - it was night when we discovered this, and we'd had supper and were just off to bed, so we didn't have to help too much *cough* not very helpful, I know, but...meh.
But then, of course, a place we were renting to store the rest of our stuff in got flooded too! So we spent ages there sorting everything out and transferring stuff into plastic boxes...and we're still sorting some of the stuff out. I hate flooding >.<
Ok, no, I don't. It's quite fun to have a lot of rain, and the stream's back - really back, it's overflowing...
Yes, seriously overflowing! I really wanted to go for a swim, yesterday - the water had gone down a bit, enough for you to be able to stand without getting knocked over, and it had gone more teal coloured and clearer instead of brown and muddy.
When it was still brown and muddy, though, me and Sky crossed over a small bridge which was underwater (we got wet up to our knees) and Mum had a fit when we came back. She keeps ranting on about people on bridges which get swept away, and people drowning...I mean, seriously! The stream's not that bad! And we know the stream! Ugh! Mum's so over-protective. Sometimes I just wish I was eighteen and didn't have to do everything she says.
We might be able to go for a swim later, but Mum and Dad have to come with us - blast them - and check it out and keep an eye on us. And whenever they have to come for a walk with us, it always ends up being really late...say, around seven pm or something stupid.
The cats are all fine, though I wish I knew where Samy disappears off to when she's not either having breakfast or supper, or on the beam above our bedroom's terrace.
Sometimes I wish I was 18 too.
ReplyDeleteIt's like my parents think I'll burn the house or something if I'm home alone for more than 20 minutes xD
OH MY GOODNESS <3 YOUR CAT IS SO ADORABLE!
