We went for a bike ride earlier,me and Sky did.
Well, when I say "earlier" I mean it was about an hour ago that we got back.
Mum got her own way and made us both wear riding helmets and take a mobile phone. We went for a bit over an hour and a half, and went to the river I mentioned in my last post and the one before.
Due to the rain that we've had since we were there a few days ago, the water level has risen even more.
This time, though, we continued to cycle down the track (even if we hadn't wanted to, we would have had to, due to the risen water level) - although, admittedly, we didn't go that far on our bikes because the track was flooded by a large "puddle" which stretched about twenty metres.
Oh, I'd better mention that upon driving through an earlier puddle, Sky slowed down too much and had to get off in the middle of the water: she got her shoes and the ends of her trousers soaked.
But I did tell her to wear flip flops.
Anyway, we left the bikes at the beginning of this "puddle" and walked on a bit to explore.
That photo shows the end of the puddle, where it's petering out, mind you.
Anyway, the track branched left, towards the river, and right, towards goodness-knows-where. (It was "goodness-knows-where" at the time, anyway, we went down there a bit later.)
Thankfully for us, the track-turned-path stopped just where we'd hoped it would: in front of the millfall I'd discovered a few days earlier.
Due to my complete stupidity, however, I'd left the tripod strapped to my bike, way back at the beginning of el puddle. Having wandered around a bit and explored, we headed back to the bikes - after having discovered that the right-hand branch of the track led to the road which led to a nearish-by village.
We got back to our bikes and then, instead of going home immediately, went up the road to the village.
I had the genius idea of turning off and going to the waterfall again, now that I had the tripod with me. So I managed to get a couple of okish photos. I saw the heron flying off, too, lower down the river.
Then it was getting late, and I had to feed the cats, so we went home.
I really wanna do a bike ride. DX
