Today we all went to the Camargue as a birthday treat-thing for Sky's birthday ^.^
We stopped at the dentist on the way there, though, and I had a piece of wire cut off my braces - it was sticking out since I'd broken one of the brackets on a lollypop...and then I also found out I must have swallowed two others o.o

It was very nice, although we didn't see any horses. Lots of birds. But I do wish I had a telephoto lens...Dad's 210mm is alright, but it's not quite good enough *sigh*
The scenery was very nice and the pond / lake / marsh we stopped next to to eat our lunch was very calm and still and blue and pale and wow...

We saw at least six buzzards (though they are fairly common around here), lots of herons and egrets, several small birds, and by the time it was getting too late for me to get a good photo of them, some flamingos! Oh, and a muskrat - or what we assume was one, anyway. I was taking a photo of the sunset, when it swam by right in front of where I was standing on the bank. I thought it was a bird, a moorhen, or something at first, but then I realised it couldn't be. My first thought - stupidly - was "crocodile" XD then I thought it was a beaver, but I'm not sure if they have beavers around here. So I decided on muskrat :3 sadly it was moving too quickly for me to get more than a silhouetted photo of it. After that, it struck out and swam across the whole lake.

Then we had some patisserie-things for tea, before heading home.
You can see some more photos here, here and here.

  2. I've broken numerous brackets ever since I got my braces on in March. It's never fun. :/

What kind of telphoto lens are you wanting? I have a 75-300 mm telephoto zoom lens and really love it c:

    1. I don't really notice when I swallow them, lol, but I suppose there is a risk.

Heh, yes, I wasn't too sure what to call them :P *looks it up* Oh, you do have them in English. I'm not sure if they are the same, though - flans.
