Yesterday me and Sky went for a walk to see the horses. As we walked down the track, I noticed that Ouriya had somehow got out! But then I saw a man there, and we thought he must be their owner, and had just taken her out for some reason.
As we got closer, though, I saw a black and white dog - our neighbour's. Then we saw that the man was our neighbour :P he asked me to help him put Ouriya back in, and I said ok, although I was a bit nervous because I don't know much about horses, and Ouri can be very frisky sometimes.
Luckily we'd brought some apple and stale bread for the horses, so I managed to lure her over with that.
Sky and our neighbour each stood on part of the electric fence (which was off; probably the reason Ouri had got out) and I guided Ouriya over. She was very anxious about stepping over the wire, though, and the other two horses were crowding around me trying to get the apple and bread.
Finally we got her over :3
Then, this evening, me, Mum and Sky all went for a walk down there - and she was out, again! Princesse, her mother, was out too for a few moments, but she went back of her own accord.
We managed to get Ouri in, again, but I had to go in their field and lure Princesse and Follette away from the fence otherwise they'd escape too. Suddenly Princesse put her ears back and shied away; I think the wire of the fence going down had scared her, as Mum trod on it. Princesse brushed past me, Ouriya galloped in and Follette gave a long neigh and bucked a bit. I was rather scared, being in the middle of the agitated horses!
I nipped out of the field pretty quickly, I can tell you, and almost fell over the electric fence.
We went up to the house at the top of the field, and asked them if they had the owner of the horses phone number. They didn't, but told us that the owner was someone in the village, who sold honey (as I had thought).
So we went to their house, and rang the door bell several times. We guessed it wasn't working, so went inside the gate and knocked on the door.
They opened the door, and a cute little palomino-coloured dog rushed out, followed by a boy who nabbed it and took it back inside. Then a girl - fourteen, or so - and a woman appeared and Mum explained about the horses. They said that the hunters had probably cut the fence or turned off the electricity, for some reason I didn't quite catch. Then they thanked us for letting 'em know, and we headed home.
It's strange that the boy and the girl aren't around the horses much. In fact, when I say "much", I've never seen them before!
Horses are scary! But beautiful
