Well, we managed! We had a huge rush towards the end, packing up the last things. It would have been perfectly fine if we didn't have to sublet it while we're away - but we do, so it wasn't. The kitchen was still a bit (ok, no, make that a lot) of a mess but we're going to ask a cleaner and our neighbour to help clear it.
Like I said in my last post, I spent a lot of time taking some last photos of the puppies. They all have homes allocated to them, and as they get old enough the gate man and the neighbour's gardener are going to give them to their respective owners. Already today Olive and Antoine were taken by a friend of our landlord. We had planned to give Olive and Maia, but at the last minute the woman wanted a boy and a girl, so...yeah. The dance teacher should be coming later to pick up Benj.
I also spent some time debating with our new neighbour's eight year old son on why evolution does (in my opinion) exist. He's a Creationist, and doesn't believe it does. I had a chameleon in my hair who kept trying to walk on Jasper, who was asleep in my arms, as I was talking.
I miss Jasper so much!!
Anyway, we finally left, and arrived at the airport just on time. There was a bit of a jam before we could park, but Dad got out and rushed with the passports and things - thank goodness, for if he hadn't, we'd have missed it! One minute later and that would have been it.
The plane flight was normal. I watched Night in the Museum: the Secret of the Tomb (or whatever it was called) and Cinderella (the film). Both were good, though the stepmother - in Cinderella, obviously... - could have been slightly creepier.
We arrived in London, and took a taxi to my grandmother's house. The taxi was late so we had to wait quite a while in Costa Coffee, which was boring. And the taxi guy wasn't very nice. And Mum was in a strop.
When we got to the house, we took in the luggage and then had a shower, before having some tea and cake. Then me and Sky went across the common to Sainsbury's to buy some soup and lettuce for our grandmother, and some other things for Mum and Dad.
After that we had lunch, I uploaded my photos onto the computer, then we went into the garden and I took some photos of the flowers and then we had tea and then we went for a walk in the common and took some photos of the ducks. There's one Egyptian gosling, four moorhen chicks by one lot and one by another lot and four ducklings. They're so sweet! I can't wait until tomorrow so I can take some more photos. The light wasn't great just now, unfortunately.
It's so strange being back in England!! And even stranger when I think
that it was just yesterday Dad was yelling that we'd miss the plane. And
the light! It's seven o'clock and it's soooooo light... *beams* in
Kenya it would be dark by now. I'm going to get my sensor cleaned, probably on Thursday or Friday, ready for when we go to Devon on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to taking some photos on the beach! Also we might go to Richmond Park on Wednesday. We'll be going back to France on the 8th, if all goes as planned.
