I've said it before and I'll say it again - I need to keep up with posting on here!
I'll try and summarise briefly what's been going on (and now I've just noticed that I wrote the same thing in my last post *sigh*).
We got out of our house on Saturday the 3rd, but stayed in the area until Thursday so we could finish sorting some things out - clearing the utility, putting a few things in the garage and trying to persuade the pool to turn blue. On Thursday evening we said goodbye to the cats, who are being fed by our neighbours, and drove northwards. We spent the night in Clermont-Ferrand and boarded the ferry at 2.30am early on Saturday 10th morning.
It's great to be back in England! It rained heavily on the first day, which was a lovely change from France. But then a few days ago there was a heatwave, with the temperature rising to 34C in some parts, which hasn't been seen in September since 1911. Thankfully now it's a bit cooler again!
All's well at the pond, and there's a heron there who could be Algernon.
On the 14th we went to Oxford where Dad had a meeting about raising some funding for us to go back to Kenya, and we visited the convent where my sister and I were christened. Oxford was really beautiful; such fantastic architecture and old buildings! It would be amazing to go to university there... But of course, England is so expensive, and Oxford is so selective!
On the 17th we went to a friend's wedding, where I was the (unpaid, but a great experience) second shooter. I would have liked to take some photos of the groups (you know; bride, groom, bridesmaid, etc) but the other photographer was doing it and I didn't want to push in front of her. Still, hopefully I got a few nice shots, although the light was dreadful in the venue.

Yesterday we went to see the friend we always visit when we come to England. We went to a lovely garden with thousands of colourful flowers and two adorable cats. Then we went to the friend's house, where we had a barbecue, played a game on the trampoline, and tried to navigate our way over a rotting wooden fence with thistles, nettles and brambles below and to the side. Afterwards, we all sat around a campfire outside ^.^
Tomorrow we're hopefully going to go to Richmond Park and, even more hopefully, on Friday we'll be going to Kenya! Please please please let it work out...
